I have a xanga...?

Wow, it has been over 2 years since my last xanga post...I totally forgot that I had a xanga!

o.o

Right now I am "working" on my personal statement for my reapplication to pharmacy school. I actually got a decent amount of work done tonight. What other random information can I talk about...well I started my job as a Research Technician at Western U this past Tuesday (btw, Research Technician is just a fancy name for the dude that cleans beakers and mixes solutions). I also tutored Tessa today (one of my students, along with Travis and Tori). As I was tutoring her, I realized that I was very different from Tessa when I was her age. Tessa is not afraid of telling you what is on her mind and she is very honest with you. It is surprising how much I can learn from a 4th grader.

Ok, lastly I wanted to remember to mention one last thing. Proverbs 18:1 "Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment." A beautiful nugget for meditation.

Grunion Run!!!

So, after watching "Night at the Museum," Cindy Tsau wanted to see the Grunion at Del Mar. Here is some video of our nighttime excursion.

We walked around the beach for about half an hour and we didn't see anything. Then Cindy saw something:

We found 2 Grunions.

Peter picked them up and put them in my sweater:

We got a little excited.

Then we found a third Grunion:

Peter the Fisherman.

Our Grunion Hunting Party (the grunion are in the box):

Cesar is Pretty.

Then we took the Grunions home.

Getting ready to eat the Grunion:

John eats a grunion:

Pizza toppings:

Now, watch as we eat the Grunion: (Cindy takes the first bite):

Look at AJ's face after he eats the Grunion, he then gives a "thumbs up"

Then we eat the other 2 grunion:

Garrett: "It tastes like fish."

The summer has just begun. =)

Psalm 130 (From Depths of Woe)

1. From the depths of woe I raise to Thee
The voice of lamentation;
Lord, turn a gracious ear to me
And hear my supplication;
If Thou iniquities dost mark,
Our secret sins and misdeeds dark,

O who shall stand before Thee?
(Who shall stand before Thee?)
O who shall stand before Thee?
(Who shall stand before Thee?)

2. Though great our sins and sore our woes
His grace much more aboundeth;
His helping love no limit knows,
Our upmost need it soundeth.
Our Shepherd good and true is He,
Who will at last His Israel free

From all their sin and sorrow
(All their sin and sorrow)
From all their sin and sorrow
(All their sin and sorrow)
